Dear Friends,
In our decades of research into mindfulness without meditation, we have learned that the simple act of noticing new things can yield a startling range of benefits in everyday life from health and longevity to creativity and well-being. Mindfulness as we study it has nothing to do with meditation and can instead be achieved almost instantly by almost anyone.
My colleagues and I would like to take what we have learned about such exercises and make them available to everyone in a fun, engaging, mind expanding way. We believe that the benefits of mindfulness increase more than exponentially in groups compared with individuals. Imagine how much more innovative, productive, confident, and compassionate we can all be.
To that end, we will be undertaking a 10-week experiment with two groups, one of children and one of adults, to play fun mindfulness games in weekly 15-minute video conferences. Each week we will do a couple of activities and get the group's feedback on their mindfulness and engagement value, as well as other feedback on how to make them as accessible and interesting as possible. We will also look to measure the improvements the participants experience in their lives over the 10-week trial.
Each group will be limited to 15 participants during this trial period, so if you would like to enroll in the adult version or enroll a child (11-14 years old) in the child version, please fill in the form below indicating your interest and a couple of sentences about the reasons for your interest and what you would most hope to get out of the experience.
Please feel free to forward this request to anyone you think might be interested. We will maintain a waiting list of interested friends for future versions of the program.
Thanks very much for your interest,
Ellen Langer and team
